I like the serials, but like to read them all at the same time when they are complete.

Is it possible to download each serial as a whole when it's completed?

I can't check myself as I can't find my current Journal with the latest password in - I think I left it in the car.
If anyone could pm me the latest password or answer that question I would be very grateful.

Edit:

Thanks to the very helpful lady who promptly got the password to me. :D

Rob, I didn't take offence at all, no need to apologise at all! :D

I know how upsetting it can be if no one comments, I've posted writing online quite a lot (not just Blyton, I've written murder mysteries and plays and all kinds) and it can be disheartening when no one says much.

Im not trying to plug my writing, I just mentioned it for the interest of anyone who likes Barney and Adventure.
But I understand if its only society stuff that can be discussed.

Pete, I seem to remember that when a serial is complete there is a link to view the whole serial on one page and then you can copy the whole and paste it all into a word document :)
Oh - I've just read your edit, you can probably see the link now!

I'm sorry for causing all this, it wasn't my intention. I did want to pm Cathy, but couldn't find the pm button at the time, so posted here, as we talked about it here.

Julie, I'm sorry for not commenting your serial. I like it very much and I always look forward to the next Monday. The problem is, that this is all I can write, and only writing "I love (or like) the chapter and I'm already looking forward to the next" might get a bit repetitive. That's why I don't write much during the reading. But I'm really enjoying the serial!

And naturally I also enjoyed very much the last one!

I must admit I'm equally to blame, as its easy to let threads go trailing off into different topics (such as Enid Blyton follow-on novels in general rather than the Society weekly serial) and I'm the worst one for derailing topics, lol! I do it all the time!

I have to say that when my own two serials were being run, it was always great to get comments from readers, even if they were quite repetitive - at least we then get a gauge of how many are reading them , even though I know from what Tony has said that many more members do read them who aren't on the forums. It's good to know they aren't going unnoticed for weeks on end. :-) So even posts saying 'this weeks chapter was great' or 'another good one' or 'I'm enjoying the story' are equally as welcome as longer posts. Even a comment saying 'I hate this story!!' is better than no comment at all!!

Saying that, I have to confess that until Julie's last Secret Seven serial, I had rarely read any of the serials on here, and so far I've only read the first five chapters of Julies Barney mystery. This isn't because I don't like it, but for the very simple reason that I'm writing a Barney Mystery myself at the moment and don't want to be too influenced by reading Julie's. :-) I know I can be easily influenced, and don't want to pinch Julie's ideas, lol - but I will get to reading the rest of your serial once I've written, mine, Julie - and look forward to whatever follows it! :-D

I tend to do the same, Rob  . I read a remark of a forumite, start commenting on it and one thing leads to another and so on. I derail.
It's very hard for me to stay focused, to stay on topic in general.
Not just on EBS.

Having said that, I love and enjoy reading all the EBS serials (what a great idea, because IMHO Enid Blyton did not write enough suspense stories, so more EB-like written stories are very much in demand! 8) ) and like Pete I also wait until the entire continuation story on EBS is finished, then I print it out and try to make time to read it...unfortunately other unexpected things often interfere with that intention. But at least it's printed out and cannot get lost!

Tony and Anita haven't commented on this, but I can see no harm in what anyone has written! I don't think anyone needs to feel guilty or apportion blame.

I can well understand how writers could feel frustrated through not reading people's comments on their work. I'm sure Tony feels the same if his countless hours on the website go without comment! I might have asked this before, but I wonder if it is possible to see how many 'hits' the weekly serial gets.

Almost all of the serials can be downloaded completely except Rob's Famous Five (which I would love to download in its entirety) and one or maybe two of Julie's.

(Obviously the current serial is ongoing and cannot be completely downloaded)

Keith is the one who makes the serials downloadable so he mustn't have got round to doing the last few yet, I'm afraid.

I must admit I don't know, but maybe Tony does.

I know, but it would be nice to be able to read it now. I'm at home and not very well...
