Re: New Weekly Serial
Thanks Julie. I must say as a child I always read the serials week by week (and still do), but I can understand those who prefer to wait until they can read it all. I don't think any child ever saved up their Sunny Stories or Enid Blyton Magazine until they had a full story... and I suppose, just thinking about it now, a serial was a way of making sure the next issue was bought, and the next, and the next...
Thanks Rob.... more to come later on!

Daisy, that's true, but not everybody has the memory of a child.Daisy wrote:I don't think any child ever saved up their Sunny Stories or Enid Blyton Magazine until they had a full story... and I suppose, just thinking about it now, a serial was a way of making sure the next issue was bought, and the next, and the next...

Re: New Weekly Serial
Hi Daisy, sorry for not writing sooner.
I was never a fan of the Secret Seven so I wasn't sure if I wanted to read it, as I never connected to them as I did to the other series. But finally I began reading. I like your story and I'm looking forward to the next chapter.
I will never be a fan of them, there are just to many children without any serious role I think, but they are better than I remembered.

Re: New Weekly Serial
I started to read Julie's Barney mystery and Rob's Famous Five adventure as a serial but I found I was having to re-read chapters to refresh my memory so I eventually read them continually, as I would a book.
I intend to do the same with your story about the Secret Seven, Daisy, when it is all available.

Re: New Weekly Serial
I also prefer to read the serials when I have a complete set of the chapters, John.
Like Dinah Cunningham, I was never a big fan of the Secret Seven and agree that there are just too many children without any serious role. I did read the first eight books in the series as a child, but I have never really been interested in returning to them.

Re: New Weekly Serial
I enjoyed today's chapter very much indeed! A secret passage in a Secret Seven book is something quite unexpected! I loved the descriptions - I felt quite claustrophobic thinking of Scamper going along there! Great stuff!
