Not sure if this set contains any hard to get hold of stories, or has most of the short stories contained in the three newer paperback Christmas book collections?

I've got that set and it contains six stories - 'Grandpa Twinkle', 'The Old Red Stocking', 'The Christmas Mouse', 'The Lost Presents', 'The Little Fir-Tree' and 'A Surprise on Christmas Eve'. The stories are very short and I'm not sure whether they're exactly as Enid Blyton wrote them but it's a nice little box of books.
"Heyho for a starry night and a heathery bed!" - Jack, The Secret Island.

"There is no bond like the bond of having read and liked the same books."

Ah, that brings back happy memories. My children had that set and I read the stories to them many times. It's still in the house somewhere - I wonder if they'd like to 'donate' it to my collection.

Katharine, sounds like a good idea - if you can find it in your Blyton Cave Of Books!

I have that set too. I think it used to be for sale in Poundland when I bought mine! As far as I can remember they're 'board books' with about six pages each.
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'
