Hmmm, it's the same seller as the first one. I wonder why this other one is so much more expensive when there doesn't seem to be much difference in the condition?

I would be seriously tempted — and I realise this is about half the price it usually goes for, if that — but I'm trying to save money at the moment...

That cheap one was really cheap, I've not seen any that price, no wonder it was snapped up! I wonder if it was a mistake though given the diference between the other copy? Someone got a good bargain if so, provided the seller let it go for that price.

The more expensive one is still there. I wish they had the "make an offer" option — I'd see if I could haggle it down a bit. I am still thinking about it even for 50 quid, but am not yet won over...

Yes, I'm pretty sure I saw that one too. It does have a significantly better dust jacket (not so surprising, as it's a 1968 edition, one of the last editions of the "original" before the 1970s Dean editions came along), but I still can't justify the price to myself!!

I know what you mean, it's hard to justify a price like that for one book, especially if you don't have the money spare to splash out with, but it's so hard to leave it knowing it's actually a good price! I had fully intended to leave the Faraway Tree set until last when I wanted them, so I could save up or at least not have as many left to get with them, but I got lucky and got them for £65. If I hadn't though, I'd be seriously tempted by this one for the price and would almost certainly have caved . I think it's difficult not to when you know you'd usually have to pay two or even three times more.

Yes, but I'm not a "real" collector and I don't actually read Enid Blyton books that often (a dangerous confession to make around here, I know ). So in many cases, having the money does look significantly more attractive (and sensible) than having the book.

I can see why having the money seems a better prospect then. Paying fifty odd pounds for a book if you don't really read or collect them does seem a rather pointless thing to do as you won't get much out of it.

Do you really not read Enid Blyton books much? I thought members on here would always have at least one on the go, I know I read them so often that it's a good job you can't wear books out by reading them or I wouldn't have any

Of course, lol! It might take about 4 - 6 months to get there though...
