He now clearly states the dustwrapper is from a later edition, why is that not satisfactory?

I looked soon after Rob posted the link yesterday and it didn't have "but is from a later edition" then, as it does now.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Yes - I think its a bit hasty of people to jump on me when they didn't see the original posting. He has since altered it. I don't generally post things without checking details (though sometimes I have, like anyone else!) and was quite hoping to see that the seller had changed the listing - WHICH HE HADN'T. Or else I would have said nothing. OBVIOUSLY I wouldn't have included a link if the listing had been updated at the time.

Thank you Courtenay - at least you viewed it before it had been updated!! :D

Yes - the seller improved the listing slightly since last night - but I still think they should have altered the main title description, which still seems to suggest its a First with a wrapper.

I'm half expecting dfc316 to suddenly join the Society and leave a comment on this thread...

He has a couple more Blyton books on .. one of which he describes as a First Edition in the "headline description " but turns out to be a third impression in the full description. That does seem slightly disingenuous, and does "my biscuit "

He also has a copy of
Noddy And The Naughty Toys - Enid Blyton - The Noddy Garage Book No 2. ( starting bid £4.99) Which he describes as rare . And a first edition ( I'm afraid I'm no expert on Noddy)

He does sell a lot of books so you would expect him to know his stuff re first eds and wrappers etc

I saw this and decided if it didn't go too high (over £20) I would bid for it. It probably will though :( . I really don't care if the wrapper is the wrong one, I wouldn't use that one anyway as it would look out of place with the others that all have the pictured spines. I'm afraid I'm not fond of the white spines as to me they just don't look very appealing on the shelf  .

I'm not keen on the white spines either - that's why I'm collecting them as 'extra' to my main set of pictorial spines! ;-) The one thing I do like about the first six white spine versions (apart from Treasure Island!) is that they have a full-colour frontispiece illustration. :-D
