It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure )

Go for it Pete!!
Mind you, a couple look like they were maybe read only once then chewed by the dog...
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

No the seller said
'read once' ... and possibly by looking at a couple 'of the pics you could add
'well thumbed' to that description perhaps???
The initial sellers description did so get my hopes up.A virgin, pristine set of Maxey's...Ooooh...Then I saw the pics...

I'm no Maxey elitist snob - does such a position exist? But I was hoping they would look rather better in the pictures because of the way they were described....
Perhaps we book collecting types are too exacting, picky with our hopes and dreams and the books we desire to purchase???

Pete, the photo that you've posted of the books is nearly as bad as Betty Maxey's drawings.
