Congratulations on acquiring such a rare and special book. I could never afford a copy but I'd love to see one just once. :D

Someone very kindly made it possible for me to see this poem for the first time - it made me smile! :D

Enid's earliest poems are some of my favourites. I have an early edition of 'Silver and Gold' which has similar poems. They remind me very much of the poems by AA Milne in 'When We Were Very Young' and 'Now We Are Six' - both of which were published after Enid's first two poetry books. :D

I just won a copy of Real Fairies this week for £26. Absolutely delightful, what a marvellously talented lady Enid Blyton was :D .

That sounds like a bargain! I'm hoping that if the library ever decide to get rid of their copy (I'm the only person to have borrowed it since 2000) I would get first dibs!

A marvellous find IceMaiden - well done!

I enjoyed this poem too for the very first time recently. I don't think it appears in any other book according to the cave.
It's about a castle. Could it be Corfe or Kirrin or perhaps another.....

'A Fiery Castle' is particularly good, I think - very visual.

I can remember those 'fiery castles' in the fire when I was little! :D Brilliantly observant poem!

I remember when our library used to sell off their old stock for 10-50p or £1 for really big books. You could get some great bargains, I have several from over the years but strangely not one Enid Blyton as there were never any in the sale box despite there being plenty in the children's section. I like to think -and hope!- that they were too popular to be put there 8) .

True _ I never saw an Enid Blyton book in our Library 'For Sale' box - although I did pick up a copy of 'A Childhood At Green Hedges' for £2 once.
