They are currently selling for £2.99 each on Amazon - less than £15 for the whole lot.

I get the impression the participants in these forums are not very interested in spending money for these books, Susan.

I saw them being flogged off two-for-one at Heathrow Airport. At least they were on a stand clearly labelled "Enid Blyton for Grown-Ups"!

That's not too bad I suppose, but it's still not right, they are not "Enid Blyton for Grown-Ups" because that would imply that they are her books and she wrote them, when they aren't and she didn't :x . A better (if there is a better where these abominations are concerned!) way of putting them would be "Famous Five for Grown-Ups" as everyone knows who wrote and is associated with the FF yet it wouldn't be blatantly saying or implying they were Enid's books. That way they would still have the Enid Blyton part as a draw, as it is her name that is being cashed in on, sorry, lovingly used for fond remembrance in a way she would have been delighted with , to flog these things.

As far as I am concerned, Enid's original books are Enid Blyton's for grown-ups.

And its very true, too! The 'Enid Blyton For Grown-ups' books are more juvenile than anything Enid herself ever wrote. :D

So true, Nigel and Rob. Actually I think "puerile" is an even better description.
