What a beautiful book. I wonder if it's worth putting on my Christmas list - maybe Santa will be feeling extra generous this year?

That is really beautiful. Sadly I cannot afford that price and anyway it would probably look a bit out of place sitting amid my scruffy collection.

Not exactly within my budget either! Unfortunately even the main three books are prohibitively expensive in older editions with dust wrappers, as I remember we were discussing here earlier. :( Are they unusually rare, or is it really that they're sought after because of fans wanting the characters with their original names (in which case the 1970s Deans are fine too)?

I think in the case of 'Up The Faraway Tree' it is very rare indeed in this version. I have the paperback version, but I have never seen the hardback in 'real life' in any second hand bookshop, even without a dust wrapper!

Doesn't look as good as the previous one -

I would have said that if a book appears three times on Ebay in a relatively short period that it is not all that scarce. I can name a number of Enid Blyton books that have never appeared on Ebay which are much scarcer.

I checked it out in the Cave and wondered why I didn't have a larger illustration of it, so I went to look at my own copy to see if it had a wraparound dustwrapper and it wasn't there! Yet another of my books that seems to have gone walkabout!

When I was doing the Journal I went to look at The Christmas Book and that wasn't there either!

Tony - you must have a book thief!! Someone is creeping into the cave and selling your books for exorbitant prices on eBay!

At least I know what my book looked like!

My problem has been that because of building work (still ongoing, although I haven't seen my builder for two months!), I had to move hundreds of books and some have failed to return and have taken a prolonged holiday!
