Treasury of Verse
For anyone who likes Enid's poetry - or would like to get to know her poetry better - this is a lovely big annual-sized book which I highly recommend - and not a bad price!

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Well, you always know which rule I can fall back on if I don't like it... http://www.enidblytonsociety.co.uk/foru ... 30#p245694" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Seriously, though, it does look a lovely book. What convinced me, though, was looking in the Cave and seeing just how many poems are in it and the huge range of intriguing titles! I'm convinced Enid has never got as much credit as a poet as she deserves. I don't think I've ever seen her in any collection of "favourite" or "great" or "classic" poetry for children, and yet she wrote so many lovely, memorable and sometimes moving poems that ought to be better known. I'll look forward to being able to enjoy more of them than ever before!

I'm sure you'll be delighted with Enid Blyton's Treasury of Verse, Courtenay. The poems are arranged by theme and are beautifully illustrated. Definitely a treasury to treasure!

Courtenay, I hope you enjoy your book.
I've had that one since I was a child. I remember seeing it in John Menzies and saving up my pocket money to go back and get it.

Re: Treasury of Verse
The Treasury of Verse just arrived today. What lovely selections from Enid's poems (most of them I haven't seen before) and what gorgeous illustrations! Thanks for the tip-off, Rob — this was well worth buying.
