You might have competition on that one, Julie, as it is the only Find-Outers 1st edition that I haven't got! :D

I have a very nice 1947 edition.
If I didn't have the book,I would probably buy this 1946 2nd edition version from ebay @ £17.50,so good luck to whoever eventually gets it.

Hmmm...I wouldn't - as it has a photocopy wrapper! ;-)

The main reason I prefer later editions of the earlier titles in the FFO books is that the first edition versions didn't have wrap around covers, and I much prefer the wrap-around covers personally. This is the same for quite a few books. I prefer the later covers for Malory Towers, for example, because they are wrap-around designs...

The photocopy on this eBay book is a later wrap-around version, whereas the 1946 edition should have a white spine, I think?
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

All the Malory Towers books had wraparound dustwrappers, Rob, unlike St. Clare's. I like the later ones myself as I prefer Lilian Buchanan to Stanley Lloyd as an illustrator.

You are right about the wrapper for the 2nd edition of Disappearing Cat as it should have a white spine.
