Maybe you should have kept some of them to sell on eBay yourself, Nigel!

Forging Enid's signature could lead to difficulties as Prue Leith discovered

It finally sold for £51 - not as much as I thought it might go for. Seems to show that many people were well aware that it wasn't a genuine signed book. It's a nice book in its own right, with a good dust wrapper - but that fake signature put me off it! I'd have maybe gone up to £30 at a stretch! 8)

hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes

What about this one? Look genuine?

Genuine one again for comparison.

That looks genuine to me, as it's on a proper Enid Blyton plate -- but of course, even those could be faked!

Anyone any thoughts on whether this signature looks genuine?

I never feel able to judge! The signature looks genuine to me, but the 'Best Wishes' isn't quite her style.

The "B" in the word Best is a major giveaway! The fake is obvious!

Too right. Why would Enid write a capital B one way in her surname and an utterly different way in "Best wishes"??

Also, I remember Tony saying elsewhere that Enid almost always wrote "Love from Enid Blyton" when she signed a book — so if it says anything other than "love from", as this does, it's almost certainly a fake.

Where did you find that one, Pete — is it in your own collection?

I was going to ask if this one is also fake, but I think it's probably the same one!

This on the other hand looks real:

But how do you tell if it really is genuine or not? :?

The first one is exactly the same case here.

The second one has the most telling sign!
