Re: BansheeTowers - 1961 - 1st Edition
Looks like the seller has corrected the title of their listing now! I wouldn't necessarily have paid what I paid for Banshee Towers for another book in the series (did that make sense??) but Banshee Towers is so hard to get that I thought it was worth it.
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Oh dear, it took me several seconds to work out what it actually was!!
Let's have a think about what other titles in this series "doublebeast" might be selling...
THE ROCKIN' TOWN MYSTERY
THE REALLYBIG AFFAIR MYSTERY
THE RINGO'S BELLS MYSTERY
THE RATATOUILLE MYSTERY
THE ROGUEMUFFIN MYSTERY
Makes sense to me, anyway!

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I've seen the Rhubarb Mystery before! I'm beginning to suspect it's a genuine book now.

It could just be that someone had auto-correct on when typing the title.

Oh, I haven't heard that "twangy" theme tune for about 30 years, though it's come back to me from time to time... it was on TV when I was really little and I remembered it was a British cartoon about a dog — I could still just see the opening sequence with him running — but I couldn't for the life of me recall his name!!
As for this from the older thread...

Maybe the mystery is concerned about why the rhubarb looks more like celery rising from the water...

I was thinking the same myself, Nigel — that vegetable looks suspiciously pale for rhubarb...
