The Play's The Thing - real bargain!

Post by Rob Houghton »

Exceptional bargain!!

This book is almost always £30 +

Looks in very good condition - only £9.50.

Postage is, admittedly, £7.00 - but even £16.50 is VERY cheap for this book. It has some lovely illustrations by Alfred Bestall.

I'll warm me with your echoes

I'm happy to see someone bought it! They got a real bargain, as the only other listed in similar condition was £48. :-)

Someone definitely got a bargain there. I was tempted myself, as I have the red bound version, but not the one listed. However as it is quite a large book, and I don't have the shelf space, I couldn't really justify it.

I agree - I only have one shelf in the house that will accommodate my copy! :D

I was tempted too, but I'm not a "real" collector and couldn't justify it to myself — I hope it's gone to someone who'll appreciate it greatly.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Belated thank you, Rob, for flagging this up, weighs a ton and a lovely-looking (another on the to read pile!) tome indeed, nice to have the jacket cover as the frontis piece too!
